• Job Title: Laser Cutting Machine Operator

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB Summary:

The Laser Cutting Machine Operator is responsible for operating laser cutting machines to produce precision metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The role focuses on accuracy, efficiency, and ensuring high-quality output while adhering to safety procedures.

The position requires understanding machine parameters, using software such as Cypcut, and interpreting technical drawings to optimize cutting performance.

Key responsibilities:

· Operate laser cutting machines to produce metal components according to production plans and specifications.

· Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation accurately.

· Set machine parameters and optimize settings for different materials and thicknesses.

· Perform quality checks to ensure cut components meet dimensional and design standards.

· Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of laser machines.

· Record production output, machine performance, and maintenance activities.

· Follow safety protocols and operational procedures consistently.

· Identify defects or deviations and report to supervisors or quality control teams.

· Assist in learning and following best practices in laser cutting operations..

JOB SPECIFICATION

Qualifications

· Education:

Level 4 TVET in General Mechanics with COC, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Laser Machine Operation.

Required Skills:

· Minimum of 3 years of experience operating laser cutting machines or similar machinery.

· Knowledge of machine parameters and laser cutting software (e.g., Cypcut).

· Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

· Strong attention to detail and focus on precision.

· Knowledge of metalworking and manufacturing processes.

· Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

·  Awareness of safety procedures and operational protocols.
