JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB Summary:

The Power Hacksaw / Band Saw Operator is responsible for operating power hacksaw and band saw machines to cut metal components accurately according to engineering drawings and specifications. The role emphasizes precision, efficiency, and maintaining high-quality output while following safety protocols.

Key responsibilities:

·  Operate power hacksaw and band saw machines according to production plans and specifications.

· Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation accurately.

· Set up and adjust machines to achieve precise cuts and maintain quality standards.

· Perform quality checks to ensure finished components meet required specifications.

· Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of machines.

· Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report major problems to supervisors.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

· Record production output, machine usage, and maintenance activities.

· Follow safety protocols and operational procedures consistently.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Qualifications

· Education:

TVET in General Mechanics or Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Power Hacksaw or Band Saw Operation.

Required Skills:

· Minimum of 3 years of experience operating power hacksaw or band saw machines, or similar machinery.

· Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

· Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and high-quality cuts.

· Basic troubleshooting skills for mechanical equipment.

·  Knowledge of metalworking and machine operation.

· Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills..
