• Job Title: Powder Coating & Painting Operator

• Reports to:  Production Supervisor

• Duty Station: Addis Ababa

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB Summary:

The Powder Coating & Painting Operator is responsible for applying powder coating and paint finishes to metal components according to work orders, specifications, and quality standards. The role focuses on precision, consistency, and safety while ensuring high-quality surface finishes.

Key responsibilities:

· Operate powder coating and painting equipment according to production plans and specifications.

·  Read and interpret work orders, drawings, and technical specifications accurately.

· Prepare surfaces for coating, including cleaning, sanding, and masking as required.

·  Apply powder coating or paint evenly using spray guns or automated equipment.

· Monitor coating thickness, color, and finish quality to ensure compliance with standards.

· Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of coating and painting equipment.

· Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major problems to supervisors.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

· Record production output, quality checks, and equipment maintenance activities.

· Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

JOB SPECIFICATION

Qualifications

·Education:

TVET in General Mechanics or Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Powder Coating or Painting Operations.

Required Skills:

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in powder coating or painting operations in a manufacturing environment.

· Ability to read and interpret work orders, drawings, and specifications.

· Familiarity with spray gun operation, powder coating systems, and equipment maintenance.

· Attention to detail to ensure consistent, high-quality finishes.

· Knowledge of surface preparation, coating techniques, and safety protocols.

· Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
