Job Title: Milling Machine Operator

Reports to: Production Supervisor

Duty Station: Addis Ababa

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB Summary:

The Milling Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining milling machines to produce precision metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The role focuses on accuracy, quality, and efficiency in machining operations while adhering to safety standards.

The position requires technical proficiency in CNC or manual milling, machine setup, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and perform precision measurements

Key responsibilities:

·  Operate and set up manual and CNC milling machines to manufacture metal parts.

·  Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications accurately.

· Perform quality checks and measurements on finished components using precision tools.

· Ensure proper machine setup and calibration to meet production and quality standards.

· Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of milling machines.

· Follow safety procedures and operational protocols consistently.

· Record machine operations, production output, and maintenance activities.

· Identify and report any defects or deviations to supervisors or quality control teams.

· Assist in training new or junior operators as needed.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Qualifications

· Education:

Level 4 TVET in General Mechanics with COC, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Milling Machine Operation.

Required Skills:                   

· Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Milling Machine Operator.

· Ability to operate and set up milling machines (CNC and/or manual).

·  Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

· Knowledge of precision measurement and quality checks.

· Familiarity with metalworking and machining processes.

· Attention to detail and strong quality focus.
