Job Title: Mechanic II

Duty Station:  Addis Ababa

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB Summary:

The Mechanic II is responsible for performing maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems and equipment within the factory. The role requires practical experience in diagnosing faults, carrying out corrective actions, and supporting continuous operation of machinery with minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities:

· Perform maintenance, repair, and servicing of mechanical equipment and machinery.

· Inspect machines and mechanical components to identify faults and performance issues.

· Diagnose mechanical problems and implement effective solutions.

· Execute preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment breakdowns.

· Ensure proper use and maintenance of tools and mechanical equipment.

· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.

· Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime.

· Assist in installation and commissioning of new machinery when required.

· Ensure compliance with safety procedures and operational standards.

· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

JOB SPECIFICATION       

Qualifications

· Education:

o   College Diploma (10+3) / Level IV or (10+2) Level III in General Mechanics, Industrial Mechanics, GMFA, Machine Technology, Machining, or related field from a recognized TVET institution.

Required Skills:

· Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Mechanic or in a related mechanical role.

· Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.

· Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues effectively.

· Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance practices.

· Good analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

· Good communication, teamwork, and safety awareness.

· Attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
