JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB Summary:

The Lead – Digital Transformation Engineer is responsible for defining and driving the organization's enterprise-wide digital transformation and Artificial Intelligence agenda. This role owns the AI strategy and roadmap, enterprise data governance framework, and digitalization governance model, ensuring technology, data, and AI capabilities are aligned with business objectives, delivered responsibly, and embedded into day-to-day operations to improve efficiency, customer experience, and decision-making.

Key responsibilities:

1.   Digital Transformation

• Lead enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives across business units and functions.

• Standardize digital platforms, workflows, and business process automation to ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency.

• Govern the digital product portfolio and transformation roadmap, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and measurable business outcomes.

• Drive customer experience improvements and operational excellence through digital enablement.

• Act as a change agent, promoting a digital-first culture and building organizational capability for continuous transformation.

2.    AI Strategy & Roadmap

• Define and implement the enterprise Artificial Intelligence strategy and roadmap, aligned with overall business and digital strategy.

• Identify and prioritize high-value AI use cases across functions (operations, customer service, finance, supply chain, etc.).

• Promote AI adoption, automation, predictive analytics, and intelligent business processes throughout the organization.

• Establish AI governance, ethics, and responsible AI practices, including model risk management, bias mitigation, transparency, and compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

• Evaluate emerging AI technologies, platforms, and vendors, and recommend adoption where they add strategic value.

• Partner with business leaders to build AI literacy and foster a culture of experimentation and innovation.

3.   Data Strategy & Governance

• Develop and maintain the enterprise data strategy and governance framework, ensuring data is treated as a strategic asset.

• Establish standards for data quality, data ownership, data security, and master data management (MDM).

• Promote enterprise analytics, business intelligence (BI), and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

• Define data architecture principles in collaboration with IT/Data teams to support AI, analytics, and digital initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with data privacy and protection regulations (applicable local regulations).

4.   Enterprise Digitalization Governance

• Establish and lead governance structures (steering committees) for digital and AI initiatives.

• Define policies, standards, and best practices for digital platforms, automation tools, and AI systems.

• Monitor and report on the performance and risk profile of the digital and AI portfolio to executive leadership.

• Ensure interoperability, scalability, and security across digital and AI solutions enterprise-wide

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Delivery of AI strategy and roadmap milestones.

• Number and business impact of AI/automation use cases deployed.

• Data quality and governance maturity scores.

• Customer experience and operational efficiency improvement metrics.

• Compliance and audit outcomes related to AI ethics/governance and data privacy.

JOB Specification

Qualifications

Education:

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (required).

· Master's degree (MBA, MSc in AI/Data Science, or related) preferred.

Certifications (Preferred) – Minimum of 2 certificates is mandatory

· Cloud AI/data platform certifications (e.g., Azure AI, AWS Machine Learning, GCP Professional Data Engineer).

· AI governance / responsible AI certification (e.g., ISO/IEC 42001, IAPP AI Governance Professional) is a plus.

· Project/Program management certification (PMP, PgMP) is a plus

Experience:

•  8+ years of progressive experience in digital transformation, enterprise architecture, data/AI engineering, or IT strategy roles.

•  Proven track record of leading large-scale digital transformation and/or enterprise AI programs.

• Demonstrated experience developing AI/data governance frameworks and responsible AI practices.

• Experience working with stakeholders and cross-functional business units.

Skills Requirements:

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, predictive analytics, automation (RPA/IPA), and intelligent process technologies.

• Familiarity with data architecture, data governance frameworks, and master data management (MDM) principles.

• Knowledge of BI/analytics platforms (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik) and cloud AI/data ecosystems (Azure, AWS, GCP).

• Understanding of AI governance, ethics, model risk, and regulatory/compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, AI Act, ISO standards).

• Familiarity with business process automation and digital workflow platforms.

Leadership & Soft Skills

• Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business goals into a digital/AI roadmap.

• Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills at the executive level.

• Change management mindset with the ability to drive adoption across the organization.

• Ethical, risk-aware decision-making, particularly regarding AI and data usage.
