Job Title: Mechanical Senior Welder Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB Summary:

Mechanical Senior Welder Technician is responsible for performing advanced welding tasks and supervising welding operations within the factory. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality welds, interpreting technical drawings and WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications), and mentoring junior welding staff.

Key responsibilities:

· Perform complex welding tasks on metal components and assemblies using various welding techniques.

· Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and WPS to ensure accurate execution.

· Ensure weld quality and compliance with safety and industry standards.

·  Conduct inspections of welds and recommend corrective actions if necessary.

·  Mentor and guide junior welding staff in techniques and safety procedures.

·  Collaborate with production and quality teams to meet project specifications and deadlines.

·  Maintain welding equipment and ensure proper calibration and usage.

·  Keep accurate records of welding work, inspections, and maintenance.

·  Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance welding efficiency and quality.

JOB SPECIFICATION       

Qualifications

·  Education:

o   TVET in Welding or equivalent certification.

 Required Skills:

· Minimum 3 years of experience as a Welder or Welding Technician.

· Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Arc, etc.).

· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and WPS.

· Knowledge of welding safety standards and best practices.

· Ability to mentor and guide junior staff effectively.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

·  Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
