Job Title: Mechanic I

Duty Station:  Addis Ababa

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB Summary:

The Mechanic I is responsible for supporting the maintenance, repair, and proper functioning of mechanical systems and equipment within the factory. The role focuses on assisting in diagnosing mechanical issues, performing basic maintenance tasks, and ensuring machines operate efficiently under supervision.

Key responsibilities:

·  Assist in maintenance, repair, and servicing of mechanical equipment and machinery.

·  Inspect machines and mechanical components to identify issues or abnormalities.

·  Support troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical problems.

· Participate in preventive maintenance activities to reduce equipment downtime.

·  Ensure proper use and handling of tools and maintenance equipment.

·  Maintain records of maintenance work and equipment performance.

·  Follow safety procedures and operational standards at all times.

·  Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.

·   Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to support smooth operations.

JOB SPECIFICATION       

Qualifications

·   Education:

o   College Diploma (10+3) / Level IV or (10+2) Level III in General Mechanics, Industrial Mechanics, GMFA, Machine Technology, Machining, or related field from a recognized TVET institution.

Required Skills:

· Minimum 1 year of experience as a Mechanic or in a related mechanical role.

· Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment.

·  Ability to identify and assist in resolving mechanical issues.

· Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.

· Attention to detail and commitment to safety.

· Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
