JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB Summary:

The Welder is responsible for performing welding operations on metal components and assemblies according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) standards. The role focuses on producing high-quality welds with precision, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards.

Key responsibilities:

· Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and WPS technical specifications accurately.

· Perform welding using appropriate techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.) to assemble metal components.

· Inspect welds to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.

· Set up welding equipment and adjust parameters according to material and process requirements.

· Maintain welding machines, tools, and workstations in a clean and safe condition.

· Identify and troubleshoot minor welding issues and equipment malfunctions.

· Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).Record welding activities, production output, and maintenance of equipment.

· Collaborate with production and quality teams to improve welding processes.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Qualifications

· Education:

TVET in General Mechanics or related mechanical field.

Required Skills:

· Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Welder in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.

· Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and WPS specifications.

· Proficiency in various welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Stick, etc.).

· Attention to detail and focus on high-quality welds.

· Basic troubleshooting skills for welding equipment.

· Good communication, teamwork, and safety awareness.
