Job Title: Plant Manager

Duty Station:  Addis Ababa

JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB Summary:

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing overall factory operations, ensuring efficient production, optimal resource utilization, and compliance with quality and safety standards. The role focuses on coordinating production, maintenance, engineering, and support functions to achieve organizational goals and improve operational performance.

Key responsibilities:

·  Plan, organize, and manage all plant operations to ensure smooth and efficient production.

·  Supervise and coordinate activities across production, maintenance, engineering, and support departments.

·  Monitor production performance, efficiency, and quality standards.

·  Ensure optimal utilization of resources including manpower, machinery, and materials.

·  Implement and monitor operational policies, procedures, and best practices.

·  Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.

·  Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

·   Prepare and review operational reports, performance metrics, and production data.

·   Manage and develop staff, including performance evaluation and training.

·   Coordinate with senior management to align plant operations with organizational strategy.

JOB SPECIFICATION       

Qualifications

· Education:

o   BA/BSc or MBA in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

 Required Skills:

· Minimum 4 years of relevant experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory position.

·  Strong understanding of manufacturing and plant operations.

·  Leadership and team management skills.

·  Ability to plan, organizes, and manages multiple operations effectively.

·  Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

·  Good communication and coordination skills.

· Knowledge of safety, quality, and operational standards.

· Ability to drive performance improvement and operational efficiency.
