JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB Summary:

The Junior Hydraulic Shear Operator is responsible for operating hydraulic shear machines and related equipment to cut metal sheets and components according to engineering specifications. The role focuses on ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and quality in operations while adhering to safety protocols.

The position requires technical proficiency in operating hydraulic shears, presses, and saws, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and adjust machine settings precisely.

Key responsibilities:

·   Operate hydraulic shear machines, saws, and presses to cut and shape metal components.

·  Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications accurately.

·  Adjust machine settings to meet required dimensions and tolerances.

·  Perform quality checks on finished components to ensure compliance with specifications.

·  Conduct routine maintenance, cleaning, and inspection of machines.

·  Follow safety standards and operational procedures consistently.

·  Record production output, machine usage, and maintenance activities.

·  Identify defects or deviations and report to supervisors or quality control teams.

· Assist in training new or junior operators as needed.

JOB SPECIFICATION

Qualifications                        

· Education:

Level 4 TVET in General Mechanics with COC, or Degree in Mechanical Engineering / Hydraulic Shear Machine Operation.

Required Skills:

· Minimum of 3years of experience operating hydraulic shear machines or related machinery.

· Experience operating hydraulic shears, saws, and presses.

· Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

· Ability to adjust machine settings accurately and maintain quality standards.

· Knowledge of metalworking and manufacturing processes.

· Attention to detail and strong focus on quality and safety.
